You can continue the HCG diet regardless of having the flu. However, if you are just too sick to manage both flu and diet, you can take a break but continue eating healthy food choices. Taking a break is permissible especially if you have just begun taking HCG  to focus on getting yourself better.

Flu Treatment when on HCG Diet: Things You Can Do

  1. Stay home and get plenty of rest. Let your body rest and drink plenty of water to keep your respiratory system hydrated. Hydration keeps your boy full and fights against the virus. It flushes the causes of headache and runny nose.
  2. Treat aches and fever. Fever happens because your body has turned up the heat to fight off the flu virus. Symptoms such as discomfort and aches may indicate that it needs to be treated. You can drink oregano tea to ease your symptoms. Oregano has antiviral properties that fight against the flu virus.
  3. Take care of your cough. Ginger tea is a natural spice that helps in treating symptoms of flu such as coughing. You can also gargle salt and water. If your throat is burning, you can gargle warm water with salt. Salt kills bacteria in your mouth.
  4. Get exposure to sunlight. Get up early in the morning and enjoy the sunlight. It will boost your immune system and fight against viruses and bacteria.
  5. Sit in a steamy bathroom. In case you still feel stuffed up, sit in the bathroom with the door closed. Steam fills the room as soon as the shower runs hot. Sit away from the water to avoid burns. A warm shower helps your body relax and fight against the flu virus.
  6. Run the humidifier. It can help ease congestion and coughs if your house’s air is dry. If your house’s air is dry, you can use a mist humidifier or vaporizer to moisten it. Also, make sure to keep the device clean to prevent mold development.
  7. Vitamin C can help. You can get vitamin C from allowable supplements on the HCG diet. Vitamin C can boost your immune system and fights against free radicals. Grapefruits and oranges have loads of vitamin C that you can eat during the HCG diet.
