The HCG Diet Phases: Approved Foods for Rapid and Sustainable Weight Loss

The HCG Diet is a weight-loss plan that combines injections of HCG with a 500-calorie-per-day diet. The HCG diet program is composed of different phases that guide you in your weight loss. But what exactly are the HCG diet phases, and what foods are approved?

HCG Diet Phase 1

The loading phase is designed to increase your fat reserves and prepare them for speedy weight loss. During this stage, you begin receiving HCG shots. You can eat everything you want, including fatty things. You may consume the following foods:

-Pastries

-Eggs and bacon

-Fried meats

-Fried potatoes

-Mayonnaise and creams

-Chocolate

HCG Diet Phase 2 

How To Load

Phase 2 is known as the heart of the HCG diet. This phase is the most challenging part of the HCG diet as it involves strict calorie restrictions and limited food choices.

Phase 2 starts on the third day of taking your HCG shots or after the 2-day loading period. The goal of the VLCD is to eat clean and establish a healthy eating discipline while burning excess fats. 

Approved Foods:

The HCG diet is very restrictive in terms of food choices. Here’s a list of approved foods for the weight loss phase:

-Lean beef and chicken breast, lobster, crab, shrimp, fish, whole eggs

-Chard, spinach, chicory, lettuce, celery

-Tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, asparagus, and cabbage

-Apples, grapefruit, strawberries, apples, oranges, strawberries

-Coffee and tea (sugar-free)

HCG Diet Phase 3 

Phase 3 promotes adding back more calories gradually to 800 to 900 calories per day. However, sugar and carbs are still not permissible during this phase. While weight loss is still possible during this phase, it will not be as dramatic as during Phase 2.

Note that if you return to old habits that got you into the situation you were in before starting the HCG program. Foods that you can increase or add during phase 3 include all the food choices during the VLCD.

Approved Foods:

You will want to continue eating lean proteins, vegetables, and fruits. You can also add in some complex carbohydrates like sweet potatoes, quinoa, and brown rice. Here’s a list of approved foods for the maintenance phase:

·      Proteins options like lean beef and veal and all types of fish and shellfish.

·      All types of vegetables except corn and potatoes

·      All types of fruits

·      Carbohydrates like sweet potatoes, quinoa, and brown rice.

·      Whole-grain bread

·      Beverages like water, tea, black coffee, and 100% fruit juice

 

The HCG diet is a weight-loss program that requires strict discipline and adherence to the different phases. It involves combining HCG injections with a very low-calorie diet to help you shed excess weight.
