I had my last cigarette in August 2018. I was a size 10 and could eat anything and everything. I know size 10 is not thin but it was a very comfortable weight for me and allowed me to eat whatever I wanted. My breakfast consisted of eggs, 2-3 bacon strips, and a biscuit almost every morning. Lunch always included chips or fries. I drank 4 regular cokes a day. So I don’t want to gain weight from not smoking so I started an exercise program – walking, jogging, or hiking which are something I did not do when I smoked. I work on the 5th floor and always took the elevator. I was now taking the stairs. I changed my diet to dry cereal in the morning with a cup of fruit, lunch was a salad and regular dinner. I cut my cokes from 4 to 2 a day. A bag of chips now lasted me close to 2 weeks instead of 3 days. So, to my surprise, I continued to gain weight, 35 pounds. I had to get tested, and the results were that my thyroid is fine.

My blood pressure was up and even though I changed my diet. This is not what is supposed to happen when you quit smoking. I was always tired, my hair was falling out, my skin was like leather, and my vision changed I was miserable. I never felt worse in my life. My doctor insisted I was depressed. I tried the medication for 2 days and threw it away. I thought that it was a withdrawal symptom since I quit smoking and changed my diet right away. But then, I gain weight still.

I joined a weight loss program at work. I cut my hours at work because I got to the point where I could not stay awake. My friends at work were very supportive of my joining the weight loss program.

Let me begin by saying that at the very beginning of the weight loss program I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease which causes major metabolic issues and is linked with my depression. Following the four phases of the diet gives an amazing result! Choosing the HCG diet program made me lose 30 lbs and I’ve never felt better than this! My appetite, my skin, my mood, and my overall well-being are at their best! My journey with the HCG diet program was all fun, I even had lots of friends.
