The First Two Days of HCG Diet

The first two days of the HCG diet are known as the Loading Days. On the first day of the diet when the HCG is taken you are allowed to eat anything you please and as much as you please. Dieters can eat all of the food that they are going to miss while on the diet. Eating such foods is highly recommended. This phase continues for 2 days and ends on the third day of the diet.

Can You Have Peanut Butter On the First Two Days of the HCG Diet?

Peanut butter on the HCG diet is fine throughout the loading days. During the first two days of using the HCG, you’ll also need to eat as much high-fat food as you possibly can. You’ll be storing fat to be used as energy during the low-calorie portion of the diet. Don’t skip this step or your energy level will suffer if you do.

Foods to Eat During the Phase 1 of the HCG Diet 

The main focus during phase 1 is on fats. The loading foods can help you make the transition from carb-burning to fat-burning faster and easier. It’s also an important step in avoiding cheating since you’ve recently had tempting foods.

Perfect foods for loading days:

  • Cheese, cream cheese, butter, heavy cream, milkshakes, and peanut butter
  • Rich dressings including hollandaise sauce, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing
  • Fried meats including chicken, pork, and shrimp
  • Meats including bacon, sausage, beef franks, hot dogs, pork ribs, and hamburger
  • Avocados and guacamole
  • Nuts of all kinds
  • Starches such as potatoes which can be mashed with gravy and real butter
  • Bread such as bagels, burgers, or hot dog buns which can be whole wheat or seeded are recommended

Importance of the First Two Days of the HCG Diet

If you do not spend the two days filling up your fat stores with high-fat food, you will find the first 5 to 7 days of the 500-calorie diet to be very uncomfortable. The original HCG diet protocol of Dr. Simeon states that you should eat to bulk the most fattening foods you can get down until you have had the third injection.

The whole principle seems to be that, for you to handle the first week of the 500-calorie diet without severe hunger pains, you must beef up your fat supplies by gorging on high-fat foods until the HCG takes effect in your body. Once the HCG is in your body, you will not have hunger. Oddly enough, if you eat over 500 calories per day or foods not on the diet, you will often have severe hunger.
