The Myths, Misunderstandings, and Misconceptions on HCG Diet

The HCG Diet

HCG is known as the pregnancy hormone since it is produced during pregnancy by the placenta. The HCG diet, however, has very little to do with pregnancy. It is a weight loss plan that combines daily shots and a low-calorie diet. Taking the shots daily releases fats in the bloodstream and converts them as fuel. There are interferences in reaching your weight loss goal but, avoid falling from myths, misunderstandings, and misconceptions to prevent pitfalls.

The List of Myths, Misunderstandings, and Misconceptions of HCG Diet

  • HCG does not really do anything. The VLCD makes you lose weight.

Wrong! The weight loss hormone does a lot as it stimulates the follicles of muscle cells and stimulates and enhances the body’s natural hormone cycle. It simply changes how your body loses that weight by keeping your body from going into diet mode. By maintaining muscle mass and stimulating the body’s natural hormone cycle, the hormone stimulates your body’s natural metabolic cycle to run continuously.

  • Injections are dangerous

While any injections can be dangerous, HCG injections can be done with minimal risk involved. As an example, diabetics and patients going through fertility treatments are taught to inject themselves in a single appointment, and issues are extremely uncommon even after decades.  Ensure that you are using a sterile injection and clean site to administer the weight loss hormone.

  • The HCG Diet is anti-exercise

Due to Dr. Simeons’ belief that the hormone stimulates metabolism sufficiently, the original protocol did not require exercise.  Now, however, science has shown us how the hormone truly affects the body and has dispelled this myth.  During weight loss, the body retains muscle, which allows it to burn fat steadily.  Exercise in fact increases the effects of the diet, improving overall health and weight loss throughout the protocol.

  • Muscle soreness is a signal that your exercise is enough.

Your progress in physical activities does not depend on the level of soreness you get after exercising. When you experience soreness, your body has inflammation. Set at least 10 minutes duration of your exercise routine instead of using soreness as your metric for progress. Avoid extreme activities to prevent muscle loss and bone injury.

  • Eat loads of carbs to gain energy.

Adopt your new eating plan to avoid weight cycling. Avoid eating carbs during the program except for breadsticks and Melba toast. These are permissible low-calorie carbs. Support your weight loss goal by sticking to healthy food choices and combining them with daily shots. The hormone increases your energy to incorporate some extra activities. Substitute carbs with healthy fruits as snack foods before and after exercising.

  • Over-the-counter HCG is just as effective

Unfortunately, homeopathic HCG that is sold over the counter has given the diet a very bad name.  No, it does not have the same effect as the real hormone used for weight loss.   Weight loss still occurs, but it often lasts only a short time and is often accompanied by extreme hunger, headaches, and other complications.

  • Sweating is a sign of fat loss.

It is a misconception about most diet regimens. Sweating is due to the reaction of your body to heat and not to fat-burning. Stop your exercise session when your body releases sweat. Manage your exercise duration to avoid fatigue and hunger.

  • It does not provide enough caloric intake.

Patients only need to reduce calories for a short period, so they can increase their caloric intake after they have undergone the weight loss plan. Patients will be supervised by a medical professional while undergoing the plan to avoid problems with consuming a lower amount of calories.

  • Lengthier exercises are better.

Spending more time exercising can cause energy loss and muscle soreness. It is not permissible during the weight loss process because it can interfere with the hormone. Note that exercising is advisable for 10 minutes but, avoid doing them every day. Ensure that you are not hungry or tired during exercise. Avoid hitting the gym to prevent strenuous physical activities.
