Phase 2 of the HCG diet is the rapid weight loss phase. It is usually the most exciting part yet restrictive phase of the protocol. This is why it is a great deal of planning can be helpful.

Which food are you allowed to eat?

Protein

To follow the diet, you must eat 200 grams of protein twice a day. Protein sources are not created equally, so the diet obliges you to eat from the following protein list. Vegans and vegetarians can also use the HCG diet by choosing the plant-based protein sources approved below:

The diet approves eating one cup of vegetables per meal for a total of two cups per day. Even though vegetables are always healthier than snack foods, some are especially useful for losing weight with HCG. Approved vegetables are:

Fruit

This diet isn’t entirely without sweets. It needs two servings of fruit every day. Eat one serving of the fruit options below with each meal:

Drinks

Drinking as much water as possible is always a good idea, but it is particularly helpful when you are dieting for weight loss. It is healthy to drink as much water as you want since it does not contain calories.

Coffee and tea are also acceptable as long as they are not sweetened with sugar, cream, or milk. Stevia can be added to coffee and tea as a sweetener. You should drink plenty of fluids every day during the dieting process to stay hydrated.

How to plan your daily food menu?

HCG is a hormone that puts the body into an anabolic state conducive to building muscle and burning fat. When the human body is in starvation mode due to caloric restrictions, the HCG hormone allows the body to burn unwanted fat instead of burning muscle, so the weight that is lost during the HCG diet is mostly fat.

An HCG diet plan generally includes fruits, non-starchy vegetables, and lean meat. Below are some foods that can be included in an HCG diet:

  • Fruits like oranges, strawberries, apples, and red grapefruit
  • Non-starchy vegetables like lettuce, cabbage, celery, onions, cucumbers, and tomatoes
  • Lean meat like chicken breast, lean ground beef, shrimp, lobster, and white fish
  • Fatty foods like nuts or anything made with oil or starchy vegetables like potatoes and sugar are not permitted in an HCG diet plan.

Some people love to cook and change up their menu constantly to avoid boredom, whereas others are satisfied eating simple meals prepared with quality ingredients that are repeated quite often.
